The Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists host four major riding/social events every year, as well as the New Belgium Urban Assault. We also participate in trail building/maintenance events. ALL events are open to non-members. We welcome you to find out more about SDMB, and hope to see you there! Yes, we ride much more often than these four events, but found that is a better way to communicate those short-notice rides.

LAST SATURDAY RIDE
The SDMB Last Saturday Ride (or LSR) is a fun, social ride that takes place in various locations on the last Saturday of EVERY month. Rides vary in difficulty and location, but no one is ever left behind. All Last Saturday Rides will be posted on www.TucsonMTB.com. Please take a look at our TucsonMTB page for the latest in Tucson mountain biking rides. We encourage you to RSVP to the ride on TucsonMTB so we know to look for you. FIRST SATURDAY BEGINNER RIDES
SDMB is hosting a Beginner Friendly Ride the First Saturday of Each Month! The location of each monthly ride is listed below and the times will be set closer to the date of each ride, so please check the Official First Saturday Thread on TucsonMTB often. The rides will be geared towards beginners, people new to the area who want to learn some of the trails, those wanting to kick start their riding again and anyone looking for a fun relaxed ride.Distances and pace will be determined by the group present at each ride.

THIRD SATURDAY GIRLS RIDE
A great group of ladies who love to mountain bike have formed a ride that heads out from various locations on the Third Saturday of every month. This is a no-pressure, fun ride. Due to some girls wanting to ride faster (and guys wanting to ride, too) this is a co-ed ride but it usually splits up into groups based on who shows up. No one is left behind! CINCO DE MAYO
The SDMB Cinco de Mayo party and ride is one of our most popular events. Hosted within riding distance to Sweetwater, this potluck celebration is fun for the whole family. Come out to enjoy one of three different rides (beginner, intermediate, and advanced), take a short loop on the Ninja Trail, or just hang out and enjoy some great food and company.
2011 Cinco De Mayo – May 8th
The 4th annual SDMB/TMTB Cinco de Mayo ride and potluck will co-exist with Dia de las Madres this year. Saturday is the Elephant Head race so we chose Sunday for the Cinco party. Bring your mother if you want, we can get a game of Bingo going. Bring your kids as well, the playground will be theirs for the day while you go ride. And Mom can watch them (I mean enjoy their company.) Please save the date, RSVP, and let Brian Vance know what you would like to bring for the potluck. SDMB will supply drinks, fruit/bagels for breakfast, and eating tools. BV will make some chili colorado shredded beef and salsa. Usually we start the ride to Sweetwater at 8:00am from BV’s place. Breakfast at 7:30am. If folks just want to join the ride at the trailhead, probably meet there at 8:20ish. Lunch at 11:00am. Hang out as long as you want.

BIKES AND BRATS
SDMB’s Bikes and Brats has continued to grow and is now a weekend event! Held in Catalina State Park, you can bring your family out for the whole weekend or just a day. Enjoy trail hiking, some fantastic mountain biking of numerous different skill levels, play on our stunt playground, and as always, enjoy some fantastic brats (cooked by Hank himself), food, beverages, and conversation.
2011 Event didn’t happen this year due to conflicting schedules. Please keep an eye out for 2012′s event!

HOLIDAY BBQ AND RIDE
SDMB Holiday Party – Saturday, January 1st – 1pm
The SDMB board would like to invite everyone to the SDMB holiday party that is being held this year at 1pm at the Flowing Wells District Park Ramada #1– 5510 North Shannon Road, Tucson. This park has a great playground, is right next to the Kory Laos Memorial BMX park, and also connected to the Rillito river path; so bring your bikes to play on the pump track, tabletops, and/or take a spin around the new city path. SDMB will supply drinks and hamburgers/hotdogs and snacks. If anyone wants to bring anything (like holiday leftovers) to share please feel free, but it isn’t required. We are NOT planning on doing a gift exchange, but there will be SDMB combs for anyone that does not have one. Bring chairs, and there is a basketball court and open field if anyone wants to bring any balls or other games. But be sure to come over to at least hang out and maybe try your hand at the pumptrack! Some folks are going to ride Sweetwater prior to the party, probably starting around 10:30am. Details to be confirmed, and will be posted on TucsonMTB.
