The Sonoran Desert Mountain Bicyclists host four major riding/social events every year, as well as the New Belgium Urban Assault. We also participate in trail building/maintenance events. ALL events are open to non-members. We welcome you to find out more about SDMB, and hope to see you there! Yes, we ride much more often than these four events, but found that is a better way to communicate those short-notice rides.

We primarily use Facebook to promote all of our events, so we invite you to “Like” our page and stay updated with our events that way.

If you’re looking for the latest ride information, head on over to our sister-site, Seeing the need for a gathering place for local Tucson mountain bikers, a  couple SDMB’ers formed TucsonMTB and it’s now grown to include other local clubs and non-members. This is the best place to find short-notice rides and events.

The SDMB Last Saturday Ride (or LSR) is a fun, social ride that takes place in various locations on the last Saturday of EVERY month. Rides vary in difficulty and location, but no one is ever left behind. All Last Saturday Rides will be posted on Please take a look at our TucsonMTB page for the latest in Tucson mountain biking rides. We encourage you to RSVP to the ride on TucsonMTB so we know to look for you. Take a look at the great photos from our previous Last Saturday Rides!

A great group of ladies who love to mountain bike have formed a ride that heads out from various locations on the Third Saturday of every month. This is a no-pressure, fun ride, and is open to ALL folks, including beginners! Due to some girls wanting to ride faster (and guys wanting to ride, too) this is a co-ed ride but it usually splits up into groups based on who shows up. No one is left behind! Please see the Official Third Saturday Girls Ride post on TucsonMTB and head to the last page to see where the latest ride will be.

We usually gather in early May at a local campground and have a fantastic potluck/BBQ, followed by a few casual rides. All the latest information will be posted on our homepage and facebook closer to the event. In the meantime, check out some of the great photos from our previous Cinco de Mayo celebrations!

Every year in early November, we gather in Catalina State Park for a weekend of camping, grilling, hiking, and biking. This is a very family-friendly event with hikes for the younger folks.  You can view the photos from previous Bikes and Brats on our Facebook account, or on our photo page.

What used to be the SDMB Holiday Ride has evolved into a massive, Tucson-wide ride schedule we lovingly call the “8-ish Days of Christmas.” All the details are posted over on TucsonMTB in an “official post” that keeps everything organized and up-to-date. This growing event is a Tucson mountain bike community event, with rides hosted by the local clubs, including SDMB. Want to really plug yourself into the Tucson mtb scene? This is the way to do it.
