Join SDMB for our April Trail Love Corps day, Saturday April 18. In our continuing stewardship of Bug Spring trail, we will be working on the middle section between the creek valley and the hoodoos. We will be doing erosion control, improving corners, and improving flow along the entire trail corridor. The upper and lower parts of Bugs are in great shape; let’s get the middle part in equally great shape!
We will be shuttling up to the top of Bugs and working our way down. We will likely be out past lunch, so bring a lunch and/or snacks for the day. SDMB will bring beverages for the post-work festivities.
Meet at Le Buzz at 7:30 AM, and plan on working into the afternoon. We will bring the tools, you bring work gloves, water, lunch/snacks, and good footwear/clothing for the day.
RSVP on the Facebook Event or email email@example.com.
Wow, what a great turnout we had for the February 22nd Sweetwater trail day! Thanks to everyone who came out and helped rough in the new section of trail that is due to be completed this year. Keep an eye out for upcoming work days.
Make sure to take a moment and check out the new Sweetwater trail system map, as well as photos from the work day.
Come out for the February SDMB Trail Love Corps Day, on February 22nd. We will continue to build singletrack at Sweetwater, this time to complete the last mile of a loop in the new parcel. As there is limited parking at the work site, we will be carpooling.
Meet at the corner of Silverbell and Sweetwater (near the PACC) at 8:00 AM. Look for the SDMB flag!
Bring work gloves, water, and snacks. We will work until noon, then lunch from Beyond Bread and beverages will be provided by SDMB.
Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can make sure to have a lunch for you.
If the weather is bad, check Facebook or TucsonMTB.com for updates.
We had a fantastic turnout on Sunday as SDMB helped Pima County finish up the last bit of trail in the Sweetwater trail system. Thanks to everyone who came out, and to Beyond Bread for providing the amazing volunteer lunches.
Check out the Photos from the Event, and don’t forget about the upcoming Trail Day on December 13th (details to come).
SDMB is at it again, this time raising funds for tools, supplies, lunches, to help build new trail in Tucson Mountain Park.
Come on out November 12 from 6-10 to try new Borderlands’ brews, enjoy live music, and snack at the food trucks. $20 gets you in the door with two drinks and a special run pint glass! Additional drinks are $5 with half coming back to SDMB to fund projects directly.
To piggy back on the success of the Yetman re-route and to further our mission to help make Tucson a destination mountain bike city, we’ve worked with Pima County Parks, with public input over the last year, to develop a plan to add a 6-8 mile loop around the TMP basin. Stop by to chat us up and mingle with the MTB community.
The all volunteer project will begin in January, come on out to help and/or you can make a donation directly to the project.
See the Pint Night Facebook event.
As always, thank for the support!
We had a fantastic turnout for our September Trail Day, where we worked on our adopted trail, Bug Springs. Being one of our favorite trails, as well as it had taken quite a beating from our summer monsoon storms, it was in rough shape. We hiked up to the Hoodoos and worked our way back down, rebuilding corners, filling in the ruts, and finishing the tread.
You can view the photos in our gallery.
APRIL – SATURDAY, APRIL 26 – GREEN MOUNTAIN
Please join SDMB for a day of timbering on Mount Lemmon. We will be helping Tom Kimmel, of Tom’s Sawyers, in deadfall removal on Green Mountain and Brush Corral trails. Plan on about 5 miles of hiking, and for a bonus we will learn how to use crosscut saws! Please bring appropriate clothing, footwear, food, and water for a full day on the mountain. Meeting time is at 7:00 AM at Tom Kimmel’s house, near Catalina Highway and Houghton. Please email email@example.com to RSVP and get directions to Tom’s house.
May – Saturday, May 10th – Lower Bug Springs
We will be working on Bug Springs Trail, doing some tread maintenance and rehab below the hoodoos. Meet at Le Buzz at 7:30AM, or the lower Bugs trailhead at 8:00. Plan on working until noon. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to RSVP.
