TUCSON MOUNTAIN PARK (TMP) & STARR PASS

Level: Beginner to Intermediate/Advanced (1-A through 3-D)

Description: Tucson Mountain Park is one of the most popular rides in the area. It is very close in, lots of good single track, many different trails to explore, and has every level of riding you could want. The main trails are Starr Pass and Yetman Trails. There is also the 36th St trail, Resort Loop, Water Tank, Stone House, Acupuncture, Krien, and a few social trails. The general terrain is rocky with the occasional wash to navigate through. There are a few small sustained climbs and a few technical climbs (1 on stone house, 1 on yetman).

Most of the ride is intermediate but can be handled by most novice riders. There are plenty of ADVANCED sections available for those of you that want them. Remember that this is only one trail. To avoid cluttering up the map it is the only one shown. You really can't get lost and will probably have a great time exploring.

Take plenty of water because none is available.

Starr Pass and TMP West is also very popular. You can park at any of the parking pullouts once you've driven over Starr Pass, and ride to your heart's content. Many, many miles of trails, jeep roads and very difficult to get lost. Just keep an eye on the surrounding mountains. You can download the GPX track for the overall area below.
